This is an album from a band that means business.

With a band named after her own first name, Leather Leone has now delivered her sophomore album 'II', some twenty-nine years after her first solo album entitled 'Shock Waves'. Her Metal career started when she provided vocals for David Chastain's 1985 album 'Mystery Of Illusion'. Now in 2018 – with Vinnie Tex and Daemon Ross on guitars, Thiago Velasquez on bass and Braulio Drumond on drums – Leather is a strong ensemble producing a superior Metal experience.

If you like caterwauling vocals, a twin-pronged guitar attack, driving rhythm and searing solos, you can't go wrong with this. For long periods the album is relentless but there are changes of pace, such as the start of 'Annabelle', which does Rock out later. There is also a nice boogie piece in 'Give Me Reason' that would give most Southern Rock bands a run for their money.

Other standout tracks include 'Lost At Midnite', which features a top-drawer solo, plus the brooding 'Black Smoke' with its catchy chorus and, to be fair, opener 'Juggernaut' sets the band's stall out within seconds of starting. This is an album from a band that means business.
