A well-written and lively book that will certainly appeal to rock fans of the late seventies and eighties.

Before Garry Bushell made a name for himself as tabloid journalist and TV personality, he was a writer for Sounds from 1978 to 1982 where he penned numerous on the road tales and interviewed many of the biggest rock bands of the day. He was involved in the signing of Twisted Sister to Secret Records in the UK before Atlantic got hold of them in the States. Bushell also wrote the first official Iron Maiden bio 'Running Free', which now goes for a lot of money on Amazon.

A controversial figure, Bushell spills the beans in a very entertaining manner with many laugh out loud moments. He has never been one to shy away from the truth and has often rubbed people up the wrong way. He's certainly lived a colourful life: he has championed many working class causes; he was integral in the Oi scene of the seventies and is to many punk fans the "Godfather of punk" having discovered The Cockney Rejects and he met/interviewed the likes of Ozzy, Ritchie Blackmore and Hanoi Rocks for Sounds. His own punk band The Gonads have been touring for 30 years now so Bushell's working days are not simply spent typing in his home office.

His candid book involves sex, gangsters/crime, rock 'n' roll, punk, politics, drugs and celebrities. To the mainstream he is perhaps best known for his TV column Bushell On The Box and for his many TV appearances. This book is filled to the brim with humorous anecdotes. Although he is certainly not to everyone's tastes, 'Bushell On The Rampage' is a well-written and lively book that will certainly appeal to rock fans of the late seventies and eighties.
