A perfect debut.

Us Amongst The Rest is a four-piece Alternative Rock band from the heart of Yorkshire and a small town called York; from such a small place come big things. They are a band that are not afraid to wear their heart on their sleeve and bring forth powerful emotion. UATR are expressive, poetic and sensitive, their chilling vocal harmonies and twin lead guitars capture every dark emotion well, sparking deep thought and creating something that is sentimental to its audience.

The intro designs a mental image of what is to come in the album. The classic piano with the sound of heavy rain gives an eerie and uneasy stir which feeds nicely into 'Fields Of Fray'. An instant impression is given of passion and influence from similar bands like Atreyu and New Device. The song structure is religious to its picked genre leaving no room for a surprised attack on its listener. 'Angels' is a standout on the album and its softer texture, through acoustic guitar, lowered volumes and vocals that are almost spoken, draws you in a warmer, closer feeling to the band. The track changes direction showing a Progressive music feature, the twin guitar harmonies are indulging and show inspiration from Alter Bridge.

The 'Sliver & Lead' track is great expenditure of what the guitarists can achieve; as to really mix things up they have integrated Rock 'n' Roll style licks and riffs over a New Rock/Alternative sound and it works!

What makes this whole album interesting to listen to are the guitar parts. They bring dynamics to the record and are what generate the intense emotion to every music piece. They take control and demand the most attention. It is what turns this album from a dull one to a good one and makes a perfect debut too.
