This sophomore album easily outdistances Rage Of Romance's grand debut.

A lot can happen in two years... and it certainly has for the Greek band Rage Of Romance! Since their 2014 debut, the group have felt a "sea-change" within the ranks. Vicky Psarakis – the group's guest vocalist on their debut – left to reside in Canada and joined The Agonist. Guitarist Michael Tiko also bowed out. However, Rage Of Romance has continued and kept intact its founding members – Iraklis Deligiorgis on bass and Leonidas Deligiorgis on guitars, along with keyboardist extraordinaire Kostas Giannikopoulos. The three decided to join forces with Maxi Nil (ex-Visions Of Atlantis, Jaded Star), another powerful female vocalist, to record their second musical adventure.

'Thunderborn' is that musical adventure and it is one that entices, enthrals and moves in thunderous waves! Once again, Rage Of Romance prove that the all-important mission of the three founding members is simply the creation of potent and modern Progressive music. Also joining the group again is guest drummer Nick Tsiligoudis and two guest guitarists in the shape of Terry Naso and Kostas Tsiligiris. Within this line-up, the group have been successful in creating another riveting and profound oceanic body of sonic brilliancy!

From the opening 'The Burning Sea Of Galilee', we are propelled through fascinating soundscapes and storylines. 'The Deepest Of Dreams' located deep within 'Thunderborn' serves to re-energise our collective musical journey. A vast spectrum of sonics meet us on each performance, but on the last three selections it seems the "building up" intensifies and we are treated with excelling vocals and powerful arrangements that open up a variety of musical vistas.

Taken as a whole body of work, 'Thunderborn' is so very aptly named because we are experiencing a truly thunderous performance from all those assembled. They feel like a true band – strong, united and dedicated! This sophomore album easily outdistances Rage Of Romance's grand debut! It's my opinion that you simply have to experience the Rage Of Romance!
