Unlocked Box Issue 1 - Caprica

The pilot episode of the hotly-anticipated CAPRICA – a prequel to Battlestar Galactica– was much better than I expected...and thankfully a lot more sci-fi oriented than I initially anticipated. The gothic set designs, vintage 1940s costumes and the futuristic technology was a nice touch and reminded me in a way of Tim Burton’s brilliant Batman films. Set 58 years before BSG, the show was basically about how humanity created the Cylons who would later attempt to rid the universe of the human race as revenge for their enslavement. The first twenty minutes or so ran like an O.A.P. on crutches but by the end I was gasping for more. What a climax! Ronald D. Moore and David Eick deserve a huge round of applause. The rest of season one airs in the USA early 2010 and probably in the UK after the summer.
