Unlocked Box Issue 1 - Fringe

I’m not convinced that J.J. Abrams is the second coming though a lot of movie buffs seem to think he is, but I do agree that he did a pretty damn good job with the new Star Trek movie. Thankfully, the second season of his hit TV show FRINGE is an improvement on season one which started life far too slowly.

Essentially, Fringe is The X-Files for the noughties but the lead female character, Olivia Dunham, is the believer and the male character, Peter Bishop, is the sceptic (of course, to begin with it was the other way round with Moulder and Scully.) The mad scientist Walter Bishop (Peter’s once estranged father) is entertaining but OTT and annoying at times. It’s a good show and though it is not an anthology series each episode concerns something totally different akin to The Twilight Zone and The X-Files, so time-travel, cybernetics, strange human mutations, bizarre scientific experiments and shapeshifting, etc.
