Big melodies, great musicianship and interesting storylines.

Attila Bokor and Richard Sandstrom come from the small Swedish Hamlet of Furuboda, where they both attended (in 2005) a music class, and instantly found a strong musical rapport when Sandstrom started playing his drums and Bokor started to jam along on his bass. However, it wasn't until 2008 before they started to write and record their first songs together. Those first writing and recording sessions lead to the birth of Morph, and later on this collaboration between the two men resulted in this album. 'Sintrinity' is a conceptual work about a love triangle and during its playing time we get to follow two life long enemies, who fight for the love of the same woman; but this woman seems to have her own secrets and agendas that she wants to pursue. Even though it's a concept album, the band have always had the philosophy that the song and melody are the keys to any good album and during the seven songs that make up this CD, we find a clever combination of harmonies, hook lines and strong melodic arrangements to make it a very interesting prospect to get to grips with.

Take the superb song 'Wake Up', a track all about domestic violence and murder that Morph handle with great aplomb. The lyrics are as the subject demands: hard hitting and dark, the musicianship stark and challenging, though for the listener the most exciting thing is the underlying melody, which is just infectious and very powerful. Another song that Morph have excelled at is the otherworldly ballad 'The Final Bow' where Bokor's vocals, filled with raw emotion and angst, draw out the best in each and every syllable he sings. Then finally we come to 'It Feels Like The End' with its heavy riffs, mournful piano, clever lyrics and strong emotional vocals. This song is really the showcase for what Morph and their music are all about.

As debuts go, 'Sintrinity' is right up there in my opinion and prog metal fans who love songs and albums with big melodies, great musicianship and interesting storylines, will have to look deep into their piggy banks once again or down the backs of their sofas for the extra pennies they'll need, so that they can go and buy this excellent album!
