Give it a try yourselves because you might find it titillates your musical taste buds.

Problems, problems. Why? Well I just don't get this album at all. In no way is it bad but it borrows (shall we say) from so many other acts that Markonee lose all sense of identity barely a couple of songs into the proceedings.

There's bits of Danger Danger, Motley, Ratt, Helix and a host of other 80's rock acts residing in each and every song that makes up this release, which on the whole should be a good thing. The problems start when during certain tracks you're listening to, you begin to sing in your head the words to a totally different song because Markonee have 'borrowed' the melody or song structure from the tune of another song. Playing one particular track I ended up singing Helix's 'R.O.C.K' and now can't listen to Markonee's song without the Helix track taking over. Plagiarism is I suppose sometimes a nice way to honour your heroes be they musical, film or from a book but this album takes things a little too far, I feel.

The album itself is well played and produced and if you like music that is sometimes catchy but is also a very Derivative (capital D) style of hard rock, that also isn't 'Original' in any way shape or form; then you might like this album. But summing up I have to say that Markonee (who do have a lot of musical talent in their ranks), should be able to come up with something a little more up to date and less old hat than this album. And please guys stop listening to those 80's releases just before a writing session because it's obviously influencing your music a little too much.

So as you might have surmised 'COBH' wasn't for me and that's a shame, because on a couple of tracks you can hear the potential that they do have. Oh well, maybe next time (and as I always say, give it a try yourselves because you might find it titillates your musical taste buds) ...
