A full thirteen track affair that ties up all the extra acoustic versions, cover songs and bonus tracks from the UK band's career thus far.

When the band first told me about this release I was under the impression that it would be just an extended EP for the 'Black Gold' single from Jettblack's second album, 'Raining Rock'. However, the finished article turns out to be a full thirteen track affair that ties up all the extra acoustic versions, cover songs and bonus tracks from the UK band's career thus far.

What you get is an album with 'Black Gold' at both ends; a new edit at the beginning with Black Star Riders' guitarist Damon Johnson making a guest appearance, and the full album version at the end. In between there are a handful of excellent acoustic versions of songs – something the band seems to be particularly adept at – with the previously download only 'War Between Us' and 'Not Even Love' from the debut, and 'Sunshine' and 'Prison Of Love' from 'Raining Rock', and there's also a new song called 'Red Horizon' which is one of the highlights here and suggests a more mature approach.

There are three covers, the magazine cover disc run through of AC/DC's 'Let Me Put My Love Into You' and decent stabs at Heart's 'Barracuda' and a more left-field choice in Motorhead's 'Name In Vain'. The powerful rock and roll of 'Weapon' and 'Fade Away' are taken from the 'Raining Rock' sessions and really shouldn't have been left off that album, whilst the previously available as a download 'Feel The Love' is a great upbeat tune with a guest spot from none other than Ian Paice.

I'm really quite partial to Jettblack's no nonsense rock, but as he's the more versatile singer I wish Will Stapleton was singing every song, with Jon Dow in reserve as a strong harmonizer. The track 'Black Gold' is one of their strongest, with a great arrangement that builds to a memorable chorus, although I have to say that it's not really suited to opening an album.

I've enjoyed all Jettblack's output so far and 'Red Horizon' hints at great things to come, but for now this disc stands up on its own.
