Scott Stapp the voice of Creed to headline solo London show

Scott Stapp, Grammy-Award winner and lead singer of Creed, has created an impressive musical legacy…

Creed counts amongst the ten most successful US bands of the 2000s, with more than 40 million records sold, three Grammy nominations (including a win for ‘Best Rock Song’ with ‘With Arms Wide Open’), six US gold & multi-platinum albums, and 11 #1 hits. Not surprisingly, Creed was chosen by US magazine Billboard as one of the Top 20 ‘most significant artists of the last decade’.

And now comes Scott’s latest solo album, ‘Proof of Life’ – produced by Howard Benson (Halestorm, Papa Roach) and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge  (Volbeat, Rise Against), and featuring drummers Kenny Aronoff & Josh Freese, plus guitarists Phil X & Ken Pierce, amongst others.

‘Proof of Life’, including ‘Break Out’, ‘Dying To Live’ & lead single / video ‘Slow Suicide’ (#1 at Christian Rock in the US), is out now via Spinefarm Records in the UK.

In support of this release, the follow-up to 2005’s ‘The Great Divide’, a platinum Top 20 US album, Scott and his band will be coming to the UK for a show at the Electric Ballroom in London on April 23rd – this exclusive event is part of a short European run also featuring dates in Germany...

Says Scott: “I'm really looking forward to reuniting with my friends and fans in the UK! Over the years, fans have come to me and told me how through my music they’ve gotten through the worst of times, and that’s always really hit me hard. So now, I’m taking it back to the roots and sharing my entire musical journey from Creed through to my solo work.”

Tickets for the Electric Ballroom show can be purchased here:-

Presale: Feb 6th from 09.00

Onsale: Feb 7th from 09.00

Creed’s rise to fame at the end of the 1990s is one of the most successful band stories of the time.

As early as 1997, their debut album, ‘My Own Prison’, had found its way onto the US charts, and – driven by an inbuilt work ethic plus the ability to strike a bond with a wide audience – Creed became one of the most successful Stateside acts; their subsequent albums, ‘Human Clay’ (1999) & ‘Weathered’ (2001), hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts in the US, as well as going Top Ten in many parts of Europe.

In 2005, Scott released his solo debut, the aforementioned ‘The Great Divide’, and in 2014 we have the next step, ‘Proof of Life’, which contains the first new material since the release of his 2012 memoir, ‘Sinner’s Creed’, a candid refection on the highs and lows of the past. In ‘Sinner’s Creed’, Scott shared his story for the first time – from his fundamentalist upbringing, the rise of Creed, his ongoing battle with addiction, the rediscovery of his faith and the launch of his solo career. The memoir is ‘proof’ positive for the singer that a greater force is ever-present, despite the messes we sometimes make of our lives, and ‘Proof of Life’ continues the story...

Concludes Scott:-

“This is the most meaningful record of my career. I´ve made a mess of a lot of things in my life, but I´ve learnt my lessons. This album chronicles my struggles, my journey to find myself, and is therefore the most honest record I have ever written.”
