Nothing short of excellent.

With the rousing sounds of Harmony, the muscle of Running Wild and the episodic Ride The Sky, 'Endless Storm' from the Portuguese sextet Mindfeeder with its dominant riffs, blisteringly fast drums, soaring choruses, searing guitars and keyboards is nothing short of excellent. The opening track 'The Call' starts with the sounds of telephone dial tones when suddenly the track blows wide open giving way to galloping guitars, massive drums, voices climbing skyward during the chorus and a fantastic guitar solo. All this made the desire to hear the rest of this release even stronger.

Know this up front; in every way imaginable this is Power Metal. There are no ballads and nothing is held back. With the exception of a brief slowing of the pace during 'Memories', not even a mid tempo track is heard. It is loud, larger-than-life and it is best to just brace yourself as the wall of music and voices rolls toward you in an effort to totally encapsulate you. The music is played in such a way that it almost demands to be heard, whether or not that is a good thing is open for discussion. Some could argue that music should just be offered to the listener but for fans of Power Metal, this type of forcefulness is to be expected. Musically it pounds its way into the brain where it has every intention of staying for days. Although only eight tracks long, '...Storm' takes every advantage of its relatively short playing time by getting down to business quickly and keeps things hard and heavy throughout.

Highlights include the strength of 'Colors Of The Skies', the synthesizers of '1628', the furious drumming pace of 'Together' and the almost ten minute 'Memories (Suite In IV Parts)' which, if nothing else, will put this band on the Power Metal playing field for sure. It is difficult to differentiate where the four parts start and end, but it is an absolute colossal mix of vocal growls, chants, harmonies and layers of music with a few moments of gorgeous acoustic guitars that take the listener by complete surprise.

Mindfeeder appear hell bent on making their presence known and after hearing this, it is no surprise that the boys in the band are not going to stand idly by and wait for the Metal world to come to them. With the release of this they come at you with everything they have. The mixing is well done and the artwork evokes images of despair, darkness and a bleak future. A strong contender in the Power Metal world for sure, fans of this genre need to pick this one up right away.
