The enjoyment is completely decimated by one severe error of judgment.

In my time at Fireworks and Rocktopia I don't think I have ever reviewed an album by a band from Slovenia. Broken Arrow was conceived as a Glam Rock covers band back in 2005 but then they began to incorporate their own compositions into the set, which became the basis of what would eventually become this, their debut album.

Though suitably unimpressed at the rather lame album title, upon first play my impression is the complete opposite as I'm completely bowled over by the quality of opener 'Tonight We Rock 'n' Roll'. Although it does bear a passing resemblance to Kiss' 'I Just Wanna', this is a great track of big harmonies, catchy chorus and fine guitar playing, which is followed by 'Have a Little Love'; an up-tempo number with a Journey-type catchy chorus. Vocalist Matjaž Predanič has a strong accent but it doesn't detract too much from his performance, and there are a few misdemeanors in the musical department but these can be forgiven by the fact that Broken Arrow hail from what is pretty much a backwater for Rock music. At this point I'm enjoying what I'm hearing, particularly the classy 'Hold Me Tight' with its Toto-style piano refrain, the anthemic mid-tempo 'Crying In The Shadows' and a good attempt at a power ballad with 'Can't Tell If You Know'.

Then we reach track ten and it all completely unravels in spectacular fashion. 'Give Me Your Love Tonight' is a pub Rock-type song full of honky-tonk piano, cheesy backing vocals and desperately poor lyrics with spoken interludes featuring infantile mimicking comedy voices which sound even worse with the singers strong accent. It's not just bad, it's absolutely fucking horrendous, and completely obliterates the good work that has preceded it. I really don't know what they were thinking by including it on the album. It's followed by two heavy-edged rockers to close the album, but by now the damage is done and I've lost all the interest I had.

It could have been a promising debut, but the enjoyment is completely decimated by one severe error of judgment.
