One that is masterful in musicianship, elegant in design and execution, and certainly cinematic.

This release was presented to me with the term Cinematic Progressive Rock, and it certainly is! Every number is like a movie; as an album, 'Over' is a complete series of movies... musical movies!

Get ready to be completely immersed in some very fine musical excursions that are so atmospheric and using instruments that one would not think belonged to a Rock band! This album is so deep, that describing it as an ocean of sound would not be an overstatement! We enter Frequency Drift's world with 'Run'; shut your eyes and you are approaching a greened coastline and through the mist you can see the native wildlife romping along the sandy shore!

As we journey on, Issa's voice will move us over the soundscape gently and open up our vision to celestial waves of majestic musical expressions! All through 'Over' one will hear certain influences, but these are not simple copies, it's much more a case of the band simply showing some of their 'DNA'. Personally, I hear Floydian movements, actually earlier Pink Floyd more than anything else. FD is the musical child of keyboardist Andreas Hack, and 'Over' marks the group's fifth effort. What has been created here is simply a masterpiece!

The group has experimented with various instruments in this recording, giving us a beautiful yet complicated body of music that flows effortlessly throughout. Guest vocalists Issa Fallenbacher and Agathe Labus just put the "icing on the cake!" Their collective interpretations are not just beautiful, but add body to the whole work.

The core of the group play with full hearts, showcasing their own talents without overshadowing one and another. As I began this review, 'Over' is so deep that there is not enough space here to accurately describe what you will find on this record. Suffice to say that Frequency Drift have created a wonderful, beautiful collective recorded work. One that is masterful in musicianship, elegant in design and execution, and certainly cinematic!
