A sincere attempt for this young band to continue on their path to Rock 'n' Roll stardom.
Biting and loud, Lesbian Bed Death has all the components that make up a great Hard Rock band; the boundaries of what their amplifiers are capable of withstanding be damned. They are at times chaotic, at other times serene, and yet at others coming across like a band of horse riding outlaws stampeding into town ready to make the innocent go running for cover. How does one describe LBD? What comes close would be to combine the sleaziness of L.A. Guns, the talents of Mandragora Scream, and the rawness, punch to the face approach of The Pretty Reckless.
Excellent are the distorted guitars of the melodic 'Ghost In The Mirror', with only the sounds of a tranquil acoustic guitar and the sung word in 'Damage The Sound' which comes across as a sad, almost tearful entry in a personal journal. Listen as well to the LAG sounding 'Never Get Enough', the raucous 'Broken', and the album's highlight track 'The Day Becomes The Night'. Also featured on this version are unplugged versions of 'Seven Days', 'Bela Legosi's Back', and 'Everybody's Dead'; all three of which can be heard on previous LBD releases.
What Lesbian Bed Death does do right is that their songs come across as intelligent, with the pains of previous life lessons learned shining through in their songwriting, using instruments to bring these songs fully to life. The guitars are distorted, which add wonderfully to the mix, further giving the "we don't care" recording of '...Hunters' even more credence. Perhaps, occasionally, the guitars are a tad too loud and it feels like the vocals and guitars seem to be competing for a place in the song, as is heard on the opening track 'Dark Passenger' and 'Death By Stereo'. But all in all, 'The Devil's Bounty Hunters' is a sincere attempt for this young band to continue on their path to Rock 'n' Roll stardom.
