Certainly check this one out.

One listen to Denmark’s The Killerhertz shows they have been influenced by some of the greats within the realm of Melodic Hard Rock. Imagine a compilation of the guitars of No Man Eyes, the defiance of Fatal Smile all blended with the great melodic sounds of the excellent Aventyr and you have The Killerhertz. The harmonies are tight, the power guitar chords are strong, the drum beats hard and they all sound great together. Nothing so over the top that the music becomes a parody, but instead it comes across as honest and passionate and despite a few minor flaws; it really is a great collection of tracks. A time or two it seemed that the vocals were racing slightly ahead of the accompanying music, but that is quibbling about the small stuff.

It’s a great thing when a listener can feel that the band really does want to release music because they love playing music and here on several of the tracks that was felt. Lyrics talk about love lost, the death of a close family member, the toils of daily life, dreams of Rock stardom and the anguishes of growing up. All heavy subjects to be sure, but when played in such a fashion as was heard here, the listener begins to feel empathy. With music being the greatest form of expression on planet Earth, the song-writers are to be commended for writing about those things that matter most to them, putting those feelings to music, while at the same time never allowing the music to sound “preachy” or begging for pity. The music is what it is. And it can be said the boys of TK have released a collection of songs speaking of things that are important to them. In a day and age where so many new bands bend to what they think the audience wants to hear, these musicians stay true to their beliefs and to that the highest of praise is given.

Sit back, grab a cold beer and listen to the anthemic great Hard Rocker ‘Let The Games Begin’, the guitar solo of ‘Better Days’, the poignant lyrics of ‘Swansong’, the almost Punk sounding ‘Youth, Inc.’, the sensational album highlight ‘Better Days’ and the bass guitar and drum intro of ‘Shine A Light’.

It is safe to say, this is a good one, for here are eleven tracks of cohesive Hard Rock that sounds great and such music will never go out of style. Certainly check this one out – The Killerhertz’s ‘A Killer Anthem’.
