A good-time Sleaze Rock party album.

No matter how eager we are to pretend we're a bunch of sophisticated listeners who only find pleasure in twenty-minute long suites that are rich in sublime instrumental wizardry – everyone sometimes needs to indulge themselves and start the day with the easily digestible dose of Rock 'n' Roll simplicity. Bands such as Poison made thousands of dollars on such moments of weakness didn't they? And if throwing a wild 1980s-themed party, you'll need a suitable compilation of sex, drugs and Rock 'n' Roll anthems too. That's where bands like Party Animals come in handy. This Female-Fronted Italian quartet surely knows how to Rock and their debut album 'Light A Fan Cool' is clear proof of this.

The first track 'Fuck You Baby' introduces the listener to the band's trademark sound – testosterone-fuelled, sleazy guitar riffs and wild co-ed rhythm section against the feisty vocals of a female singer Andreina. If you ever wondered what a potential love child of Vince Neil and Lee Aaron could have sounded like – she might be the answer. 'Light...' is comprised of ten songs, each of them being clichéd and predictable but nevertheless having more of a brain-boosting effect than a strong morning coffee.

Just listen to the second song 'Damned Road' with a furious instrumental interlude preceding a blistering guitar solo or the lustful, fast-paced 'I Wanna Get It All'. You can also blast the band's self-titled song 'Party Animals' in your car, on the way to work – all these rough riffs and noisy group chanting should keep you awake even in the middle of the most awful traffic jam.

Along with the simplicity and straightforwardness of the lyrics about (guess what) sex, parties and excessive alcohol consumption, 'Light A Fan Cool' is sleaze-infused contemporary Hard Rock at its best. And although it's hard to dub the band's hometown Udine, Italy "the new Sunset Strip", these Italian hedonists do their best to make us believe they've been conceived, born and raised somewhere in the back of the Whiskey A Go-Go (and well, also that the guys from Mötley Crüe contributed at least in part to the conception). If you're looking for a good-time Sleaze Rock party album and don't feel like pondering upon the meaning of life other than contemplating a worn-out "sex, drugs and Rock 'n' Roll" thing, Party Animals are the band I'm more than happy to suggest you check out.
