This album is for diehard fans of the genre and not just casual listeners as even I found it a little too intense at times.

'Truth's Redemption' is the third album from Swedish band Silent Call and it is an extremely intense, but highly melodic, sixty minute journey of Prog Metal.

The mandatory 'Intro' leads into the first full track 'Nightmare' which is full on, in your face Progressive Metal. To be honest, until the final track 'Our Last Goodbye' the band never take their foot off the throttle and for that reason, I did not find this the easiest of albums to listen to from start to finish. Do not get me wrong, the musicianship, song-writing and production are all first class but personally I would have preferred a little more light and shade. There are certainly no fluffy AOR moments to be heard on '...Redemption' and despite the frequent time changes, there appears to be a constant battle, in each song, to make it as heavy as possible whilst retaining as much melody as possible. 'Evermore' perfectly showcases the latter and is one of my favourite songs on the album.

There is great interplay between keyboards, courtesy of Patrik Tornblom and guitars, courtesy of Daniel Ekholm, throughout but this is probably best exemplified on 'Erasing The Sky'. The band is completed by the thunderous rhythm section of Tobbe Moen on bass and Micke Kvist on drums and vocalist Andi Kravljaca who possesses a powerful, clear melodic voice and only reverts to screaming once on the song 'Alive'.

'The Knife' with its, thunderous riff, 'All Of Us', 'A Better Life', 'The Kingdom's Fall' and 'World On Fire' are all brutal full-blooded attack on the senses. '...Goodbye' finally slows things down but Kravljaca's vocals just seem too powerful without the full onslaught of the rest of the band, and ironically, I find it not up to the quality of the rest of the album.

It is nice to hear a Progressive Metal band that do not just want to be Dream Theater copycats and I have heard them described as having similarities to bands like Statovarius, Angra, Labyrinth and Sonata Artica, however, I am only casually familiar with the latter bands. There is no doubting Silent Call's absolute passion throughout 'Truth's Redemption', however, I would suggest that this album is for diehard fans of the genre and not just casual listeners as even I found it a little too intense at times.
