If you fancy a decent wine with a 1970s vintage but can't read the label then this is worth taking a chance on.

Don't let the fact that the band sing in their native Italian put you off if you're a fan of sturdy 1970s Rock like Uriah Heep and Deep Purple. It's also got a nice dose of Italian Prog (1970s style) thrown in to give it character. Nico Sala has a good voice that holds your attention and he has enough power not to be outgunned by the rest of the band. The guitar deals out some satisfying meaty riffs and there's lengthy, fluid soloing whilst the keyboards also have a solid old-school feel.

'Il Pagliaccio' is a powerful start with a riff that's a distant cousin to Audioslave's 'Cochise'; it manages to sound retro and contemporary at the same time. 'Vedi Fratello' has a good hook and shows that they've got some song-writing flair. The cover of the famous Italian musician Angelo Branduardi's 'Ballo In Fa Diesis Minore' is one of the standouts. It has a distinctly Baroque flavour, with a Folk edge and a strong lead guitar. You can't help but conjure up men with pointy beards and Blackadder frilly collars listening to this one.

It's Uriah Heep territory on 'Io Sono...E SarĂ²' with a modern angular riff that gives way to swirling Hammond Organ. 'Respirare Te' is also Organ assisted but with a marvellous wailing guitar solo. 'Non Resisto' has a keyboard solo and a more Progressive edge. Although I could follow the lyrics, they are fairly abstract so you're not missing much if you can't. The closing 'Ballata Del Buon Vino', written by their previous keyboard player, has a Folky, sing-along feel that suits a song celebrating wine.

Indeed, if you fancy a decent wine with a 1970s vintage but can't read the label then this is worth taking a chance on.
