A Rocktopia user review by Speedy Hicks.

2010 for me will be the year I first heard this young band from Barcelona, June, July and August 2010 will be the three months in which this album has been in almost constant use on the stereo. Forget “Airbourne” and  “Rhino Bucket” in fact forget any group or artist that claim to sound like the one and only AC/DC if its “Dirty Deeds”  Bon era that you crave then look no further.

77 have the sound and the vocals so on the mark that to many less trained ears these could in fact be spruced up demos from 1975. Tracks like “Gimme Rock n Roll” and “Shake It Up” boogie out the speakers in classic Powerage style. The production on this album isn’t exactly of Martin Birch or Desmond Child standards but that adds to this raw slice of Rock n Roll that the 4 guys have served up.

“Hardworking Liar” should have most listeners singing along whilst title track “21st Century Rock” with its slow build up and ultimate 3 chord workout will leave you pressing play again and again. All in all this really hits the spot if you’re a DC fan and at times you really get spooked by almost perfect Bon vocals, the only downside are the lyrics, and the innuendos are a bit cheesy on a few occasions, some things in life just can’t be copied.
