Definitely an essential purchase.

It's amazing to think that it is now twenty-five years since the Nelson brothers Gunnar and Matthew released the seminal 'After The Rain'. Where does the time go? It was even more amazing for me to find this album sitting in my reviews box because I didn't even know that it was coming out. But as soon as I saw it, my fingers itched to play it so in to the death deck it went and it's been there ever since. Why? Well because it's just a wonderful slab of Melodic AOR with enough hooks to hang every picture in an art gallery.

As the twelve tracks unfold, you instantly bond with the harmonies and melodies that abound throughout each and every song that makes up 'Peace Out'. They are all so memorable that after only a couple of plays you'll have them ingrained in your mind and you'll soon be singing along to them in full voice. Don't worry though because this isn't to say that this album is an instant fix with little depth. The depth is in the quality of the song-writing, which keeps you coming back for more, each time the album has finished spinning.

As for stand out songs, let me start off by highlighting the totally brilliant 'Invincible', with its catchy riffs, glorious harmony vocals and killer hook. This one song is what Melodic Rock is all about and it's the type of track you should blast out whilst driving a convertible car with its roof down on a hot summer day. There is also 'Bad For You' with a melody so totally addictive that like a drug you have to have your fix of it on a daily basis and the stonkingly good ' Let It Ride', with another chorus to die for; these three songs are worth the price of this release all on their own. However, Nelson just keep going and hitting those musical high spots, with the likes of 'Rockstar', 'What's Not To Love' and the Bluesy, Soul-filled 'Leave The Light On For Me' proving they can do no wrong on this album.

2015 has seen a fantastic start to the year with some superb AOR/Melodic Rock albums being released. With 'Peace Out', Nelson have easily joined those great albums and come the end of the year this release will potentially be in many a Top Ten, have no fear of that; definitely an essential purchase.
