If you want to party like it's 1989 in 2015 – try this and I am sure you will like it; a sure fire winner.

Over the past fifteen years there has been the odd occasion on which something just grabs you and refuses to let go. Pride are a band that springs to mind as possibly the last act to genuinely prove that they had it all (in spades) only to fade away. Now from New York City comes a band that have all the tools, songs, looks and ability; the band is called Station.

Now I for one make no apologies for absolutely loving what Patrick Kearney and his boys do, a riotous mix of Trixter, Kiss and Crazy Lixx all topped with a smile, ripped jeans and big hair. Yes boys and girls, we are right back in 1989 and if you liked your Party Metal or whatever tag was thrown at it back in the day, then look no further because if you, like me, over the years have longed for a band to just do it like they used to back then, then look no further.

'Station' is the self-titled album by this NYC four-piece and it consists of fifteen tracks that are guaranteed to make you feel good, jump about like an idiot, stamp your feet, clap your hands and sing-along at the top of your voice. There can be no hiding from it; any band that combines mid-eighties Kiss, Trixter, a nod to D2, a little Skid Row and perhaps a minor suggestion of the riff sensibility of Dokken is onto a winner.

From the feel good party anthem of 'Everything' or the "fist in the air" strut of 'One And Only', Station can't seem to put a foot wrong. 'Dressed To Kill' is complete CL in their gritty prime, while that more mid-paced tracks such as 'Are You Sleeping Alone' and 'Waiting For You' are born and bred in that eighties splendour when no one was writing ballads like a Hard Rock band.

If this was released at the tail end of the eighties it would have, without doubt, been a massive album given the instant nature of the songs. It would be easy to imagine U.S. radio from coast to coast jumping all over this (hell, they jumped all over Pretty Boy Floyd, Bang Tango and Tuff) and quite honestly if those bands made it, Station would have been a dead cert.

This album is just crying out to be discovered, then played loud all day long to the point that even the neighbours will sing-along; try it and I'll bet I'm right. If you want to party like it's 1989 in 2015 – try this and I am sure you will like it; a sure fire winner!
