Dig a little deeper and you'll find enough intricacies and melodies to keep even the most critical listeners interested.
This is about as far away as you can get from bassist David Ellefson's more illustrious band Megadeth and yet it's no less worthy.
Alternative Independent Rock meanderings combine with heavy atmospherics on 'Comfy Slippers' or 'Gift Of Desperation' where there's a neat touch of Brandon Flowers style vocal delivery and poetic lyricism.
'Walking Underwater Part 2' is brooding and not particularly uplifting but that's not the point of songs like the Doomy 'Noise' or the depressing 'Winter In July' where the story-telling takes pride of place and even the relatively upbeat Pet Shop Boys-like 'Fallen Angel' won't exactly have you shouting from the roof tops.
Many will dismiss this as Progressive shoe gazing music but it's nowhere near as anodyne. Dig a little deeper though and you'll find enough intricacies and melodies to keep even the most critical listeners interested.
