This certainly has some iron fist but also brings some Metal fatigue.

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. There are those who pretend to be stars to gain money and preferment. There are those who say they are stars until people come round to their way of thinking – look at 'The Only Way Is Essex' (not too long of course, there's only so much eyewash out there). Then there are others who love the music of their favourite performers so much that they play that music every week, as close as they can get it, to show how much they love it and to make money, of course. My favourite act? A tribute to Meatloaf – Maltloaf.

Crossplane from Germany play heavy Rock 'n' Roll and are keen to tell us that they are not a tribute act. Bloody close though. These gents have a love of Lemmy Kilminster, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and all things Motörhead; the band who, if they moved in next door, your lawn would die. Of course it's not all Motörheadedness, but Celli doesn't half sound like Kilmister and the riffs have the chunky speed that the band are renowned for.

'Brave New World' and 'Bumsucker' (yerrsss...) have very little except the speed, kick and punch of the originators and are joined by 'Maneater' with its rabble rousing chorus and 'Get The Rhythm' which is such a good knock off; seriously, it could be on 'Stars In Their Eyes'.

When they decide to break free from the protective clasp of The Claw, they are so much more successful; 'Rock 'N' Roll Medicine' is so much more accessible and 'The Battle In Me' has a lovely lagging groove and smudgy Funk centre, there is clearly hope.

For those worried about the recent cancelled gigs and the wait for a new album, this will be a breathless treat. And the title track is as catchy as a verucca at a swimming pool; greasy, grimy and grand. 'Masturboned' is worth more than a laugh at the title, but at sixteen tracks, the slavish adherence rather saps the strength.

This certainly has some iron fist but also brings some Metal fatigue.
