Sassy and sleazy with a confidence which recalls some of the big haired American Glam Rockers in their upfront brash attitude.

Born of out adversity, Rockstar Frame are a band who evolved following drummer Max Klein's re-emergence from a coma and the belief in the healing powers of Rock music which brought him round. Fittingly, the debut album from the Milan-based, Female-Fronted five-piece is a true celebration. To coin a phrase, the band are on a roll (they are big in Italy having won the national "Rock The Road Contest" against seventy other acts) and being fronted by the distinctive vocal tones of Faith Blurry, you can perhaps appreciate why they make such an impact.

RF are sassy and sleazy with a confidence which recalls some of the big haired American Glam Rockers in their upfront brash attitude – think Poison and Guns 'N' Roses and you're on the right page. Kicking off things with 'Guilty' and the single 'She's Hot' gives the immediate impression that this is going to be a set of fast, frenzied and bold "no nonsense" Rock songs. Fifteen songs in less than an hour means they don't hang about. With the emphasis on turning a song round in under four minutes, there's little time for indulgence – just hard hitting urgency and direct impact.

Throughout there are impressive touches of keys from the splendidly named Ace Wave which complement the chording and picked melodious guitar work and give the sound an element of depth and the occasional keyboard showcase – something pushing beyond the general Hard Rock base.

There are a couple of breaks for some slower paced material in 'Song For You' which has a more commercial acoustic/electric guitar and piano element (which would actually sound nice as an unplugged arrangement) plus the piano and string led 'Fairytale'.

Beyond that, the songs continue to hit hard, one after another – any number of tracks could fit the bill as potential singles or act to showcase Rockstar Frame to a wider audience; 'Poison' is a swaggering Rock tune and there's a terrific screeching wah-wah solo in 'Lie' whilst the title track plays out the album artwork with added sound-bites.

If I was to cherry pick one item from the album it would be 'Twisted Double Nature'; a totally catchy power Rock song subtly underpinned again by a bubbly synth – if you listen to just one song from the album, this is it.

To be picky, on the questionable side, some might find the previously mentioned, slightly dubious artwork and a couple of songs titles like 'Cherry Boobs' and 'I Don't Give A Fuck' lapsing into the stereotypical and clichéd, but let it not detract from an album which has a lot going for it.
