Features some strong Rock tracks.

This release is the sixth offering from this Swiss band which has been together largely and unchanged since the eighties. Myall-Lake proudly declare they have survived many trends and are still passionately celebrating their own vision of Rock.

The album gets off to a promising start with the heavy title track 'The System Will Fail' which has a great groove not unlike recent heavier Lynch Mob with lyrics that discuss the worries and invasiveness of a digital society. 'Bloody Life' is full of impressive classically-influenced guitar, whereas 'Icebreaker' is a commercially minded single with a memorable chorus and good guitar solo. 'Diamonds And Gold' has a very 20th century theme that treasures are not what makes a man rich and musically has a touch of the Scorpions about it, as does 'No Return'.

Fireworks - The Ultimate Magazine For Melodic Rock Music

'Stories About You' is the big power ballad, whilst 'Out Of My Mind' is a fairly contemporary sounding Rocker. 'Tomorrow Another Day' and 'I Remember All These Times' are lighter tracks, somewhat Poppier and more naïve sounding than the other songs, and personally I don't think seem to work as well for a Rock audience. The album ends with a nice little instrumental, 'Autumn Leaves', for those that like that sort of thing.

This album features some strong Rock tracks at the beginning of the album that make it worth listening to but the last few songs seem a bit like "filler". Maybe sticking to the straight ahead Hard Rocking tunes would be a good plan next time.
