A grievous moment in history but one never to be forgotten thanks to this fascinating DVD.

"Rock 'n' Roll spells Mötley fucking Crüe!" screams one fan outside the Staples Centre right before the show kicks off. And that is so true on so many levels, for they did the sex, they did the drugs (nearly lethal overdoses included) and of course the great Rock 'n' Roll anthems that marked generations of fans around the globe.

This highly entertaining and pleasantly informative DVD captures the very last time, after thirty-five rollercoaster years together, that the mighty Saints Of Los Angeles graced a stage as a band. It happened on New Year's Eve 2015 after an extensive worldwide farewell tour and it took place where it all started, Los Angeles. However, this time it was not in one of the many small clubs but a sold-out arena with massive production encompassing pyrotechnics, balloons, confetti, a stage riser platform in the centre of the audience and Tommy Lee's breath-taking drum rollercoaster; a phenomenal setting for an emotional yet still Rocking farewell.

Opening up with 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and two hot and perfectly choreographed dancers, the concert footage shows MC giving their all; Nikki Sixx is on fire (quite literally with his flame-thrower bass guitar) moving around the stage, the insane Lee kicks his drums like no other (even upside down), Mick Mars brings the much loved guitar riffs and Vince Neil connects with the audience like the front-man he is. The blond, as we could witness at Download, doesn't vocalise most lyrics and he won't be in the Opera House giving vocal lessons, but one cannot stop being fond of him for what he is.

Fireworks - The Ultimate Magazine For Melodic Rock Music

The song selection for this show must have proven tricky and whilst there surely are some classics missing, we are treated to some others from throughout their lengthy career such as 'Wild Side', 'Same Ol' Situation', 'Smoking In The Boys Room', 'Looks That Kill', 'Shout At The Devil', 'Dr Feelgood' and 'Kickstart My Heart'. The foursome close this magical evening with the slow, and highly appropriate for the occasion, 'Home Sweet Home'.

'The End' is a must see not only for all Mötley Crüe fans but for anyone that is interested in Rock and Roll history. In fact, there are interviews included with all four members explaining, amongst other matters, why they decided to call it a day. A grievous moment in history but one never to be forgotten thanks to this fascinating DVD.
