Fireworks Magazine #80: COME TASTE THE BANDS! Read FREE interviews and features

Fireworks Magazine - 80 Thumb

As a taster of the current issue of Fireworks, we are pleased to give you the following five interviews and two features FREE, as a sample of the quality found within our pages...

FEATURE – SISTERS IN ROCK

Every issue, this column takes a look at the careers of four women in the Melodic Hard Rock world. Here we take a look at Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Fiona and Lorraine Lewis.

FEATURE – BANDS THAT TIME FORGOT

Here, Dave Reynolds takes a look at bands that didn't get the breaks to make the big time, with many cult artists being covered. Here we check out Hotel and Hittman.

SUZI QUATRO

The lady is a true legend, ripping through the 70s glam era and about to release 'Legend – The Best of Suzi Quatro', she shows no sign of standing still in today's music scene, having also been involved in the new 'QSP' album with fellow 70s veterans Andy Scott (The Sweet) and Don Powell (Slade).

ACCEPT

Teutonic monsters Accept have breathed new life into their career since teaming up with American vocalist Mark Tornillo. About to releases their latest opus, we talk with Wolf Hoffmann to get all the inside details.

MICHAEL MONROE

A true superstar of the glam rock scene, Monroe hit the heights with Hanoi Rocks before having a successful solo career. His new retrospective compilation is the first to cover his solo period, while also including rare and unreleased material. The Finnish maestro tells us all about his career to date.

JANET GARDNER

The delightful vocalist of legendary all-girl band Vixen thrills us all with her debut solo album and reveals how she and her husband managed to pull it all together.

CATS IN SPACE

A new band with an old sound, the veteran musicians channel the 70s like few other bands can. Still riding the crest of a wave, the guys have just been announced as support on the upcoming UK Deep Purple tour. Find out what all the fuss is about right here!

Quote of the day

“If people want to snigger at Manowar, it’s up to them. I’d rather have 10,000 warriors as fans than a million posers.” (Joey DeMaio, Manowar) - Quotes collected by Dave Ling (www.daveling.co.uk)
