Genre

A cheeky piece of Rock entertainment.

Take some of the most grotesque repertoire by Wig Wam, blend it with the most outrageous and demented song-writing from Steel Panther, add some hints of easy-listening modernity like Hardcore Superstar or Crazy Lixx and then spread some typical Roman, tongue-in-cheek, irreverent, cynical, politically incorrect irony all over, the end result would be this debut album from Italian Hyper-Sleaze and hyperglycaemic Rockers Honeybombs.

The luxurious and "yummy" album cover already speaks for itself in terms of lust and debauchery, elements that are never enough in this music genre, so up with the flesh! By the way, these compatriots must have a soft spot for chubbiness as well because there is a sort of harder and faster sequel to the Whitesnake-ish power ballad 'Fat Girl' (by Steel Panther, needless to say) called 'Fat Girls Are Goin' Mad'.

Nevertheless, Honeybombs can seriously play and Rock your ass off. Furthermore, the album is maniacally well-produced, the guitars sound sharp and edgy and the choruses roll over you with their Arena Rock-like, street gang impetus. 'Radical Shit' (a straight manifesto against the radical chic/fake liberals of the world, maybe) and 'Till The Night Is Over' can even link the obscene filth of Zodiac Mindwarp to the catchy, Pop-oriented, approach of CrashDiet. Now, if that isn't enough for you in terms of dirt and sickness, just check out 'BrazzersDotCom'! Wait... not the one you maybe... accidentally went to... by mistake of course, but the main "hit" of this disc, a sort of trashy and slutty version of Reckless Love engaged in an amateur Porn movie, something that could provide the band with a chance for some unusual advertising with said infamous website.

Thumbs up for the brilliant 'Six Pack On Your Back' and 'Oh My God!', a romantic story about a squirting love consumed on the beaches of Ostia (popular seaside location near Rome). Talking about love, there's still a lot of room for emotions and affection in here, especially with ballad 'Sweet Little Dummy'. Yes, indeed, because it might happen to anybody, falling in love with your favourite plastic sex doll and wishing it could be real someday. Another highlight-worthy moment is the bonus track cover of 'Maniac' (by Michael Sembello, featured in the soundtrack of 'Flashdance'), perfectly fitting in the context of this cheeky piece of Rock entertainment.
