There has never been a better opportunity to get to know the "woman in black".

Released to coincide with digitally re-mastered full versions of her albums from between 1975 and 1979, this album is a twenty track compilation of all Suzi Quatro's hits from the seventies and a few from her critically acclaimed 'Back To The Drive' album in 2006. While her albums from the eighties and nineties are not represented, it is an excellent collection of the songs for which Quatro is best known and for which she shot to fame.

In roughly chronological order, the album kicks off with the 1973/74 period, including famous singles 'Can The Can', '48 Crash' and 'Devil Gate Drive', all of which sold over a million copies earning her gold discs. Essentially no woman had ever Rocked out like Quatro at that point – truly 'The Wild One'. Ground-breaking and shocking as a vision in skin tight black leather, Quatro hit them with the first female Rock voice in history. Coming out with 'Daytona Demon' at about the same time as tracks like 'Ballroom Blitz' and 'Teenage Rampage' by The Sweet, she was not only the first woman to stun with a ballsy whisky-laden voice, but she was at the forefront of the Glam Rock movement every bit as much as any man. As such, she truly deserves the title of this album, 'Legend', and in this album, you can hold an essential piece of Rock history. The inspiration Joan Jett drew from Quatro-influenced The Runaways and every woman in Rock since that time.

However, the album is not only some of the greatest hits of the seventies, it includes a bunch of great lesser-known songs written by Suzi Quatro, providing both an insight into her personal life (exemplified by 'Wiser Than You' about the loss of her virginity and 'Free The Butterfly' when she was on the point of a divorce) and also social commentary songs like 'Hollywood' and '15 Minutes Of Fame' in which she looks at life with the starkly acute perception that a life in Rock 'n' Roll and an upbringing in Detroit will afford. Mickie Most said these self-penned songs were the "meat" of what she did. Although not included with the promo, the liner notes on the album released to the public will apparently include an extensive track by track listings.

There has never been a better opportunity to get to know the "woman in black".
