This disc sounds tight, aggressive and dramatic, but still extremely pompous and exciting.

Magniloquent, bombastic and (thank God) unpredictable modern Progressive grandeur from a country that can still surprise me sometimes... mine in fact! It's capable of mess and bullshit like no other country in the world, but still able to amaze you with its pure excellence. Just as lame when building a Fiat Punto, yet extremely brilliant when manufacturing a Ferrari, Italy was never considered a place famous for its Rock or Metal scene, and paradoxically the genre that you would accost the most to Heavy Metal there, its Classical music, and definitely not what is considered mainstream; like those Poppy, ultra-melodic songs Italians love to sing along to when they are in the shower or cooking spaghetti. That's why, maybe, one of the styles that always stood out from the underground, and the taste of the fierce Italian Metalheads, is this kind of fantasy Epic/Power Metal, sometimes cultured and full of philosophic/metaphysic references, with huge amounts of debts towards the historic tradition of Vivaldi, Rossini, Palestrina, Puccini, etc.

Of course, at first listening you would never compare these immense composers to a long-haired, dressed in leather, gang of cheap beer drinkers, but as far as sociologists and psychologists are concerned, people who listen to Heavy Metal are more intelligent and educated than the ones who listen to other music genres, so why not? Indeed, these very young dudes have delivered such a monster album that my headphones can hardly contain me from not annoying my housemate next to my room. This must be listened to like a man... which means at level ten! Manowar would be so proud of me!

Not only is Altair one of the brightest stars in the sky, but also a band that literally owns its instruments and uses them with the purpose of making you live several minutes of a dream, like riding on a roller coaster, floating in a tragic and apocalyptic stratosphere. I can also feel mastermind and luminary Fabio Lione (Angra, Vision Divine, Rhapsody Of Fire, Labyrinth) is right there around the corner, although these songs have already got their own wings to fly. No dull or weak moments, no useless solos that fade into nothingness and no complex arrangements that end up in being redundant and shallow.

This disc sounds tight, aggressive and dramatic, but still extremely pompous and exciting – "Bravi!"
