Being a US customer I do not get the free cd so finally got around to registering and completing the download and no issues with downloading the zip file but when I open it the MPEG Layer 3 Audio files it is not allowing me to play them. Is anyone else having these issues?

Hi radrocker39, welcome aboard!

Depending on the operating system you are using, you may have to install a free tool to extract password protected ZIP files.

If you are using Windows, pls. try 7-Zip or The Unarchiver if you are on a Mac.

Should you still have troubles unzipping the file, pls. contact me at rocktopia.team@gmail.com

Hi SeaDog57, first of all: Apologies for the troubles!

It's hard for me to understand what is going on, so I'd really need your help:

Could you pls. check the file size of the ZIP archive you downloaded? If you are using Windows, pls. click on the "Fireworks_77_Bonus_CD.zip" icon using the right mouse button and select "Properties".

The bonus CD of Fireworks #77 should have a file size of 655 MB (687.523.802 Bytes).

It could well be that the file was not downloaded completely, and when you try to extract it, 7-Zip will output several error messages.

Having said that, and if it is not too much of a hassle, could you pls. post the error messages?

Many thanks in advance!

B.

P.S.: Sending you the file via WeTransfer, can you pls. let me know if you were able to extract it?

I was able to download and extract all bonus CDs without any issues on my Mac. But I'd second Berny: Downloads that havent't been completed won't extract without errors.

Just my tow cents ...

I took a look as the additional replies and see they are still having issues with the zip files. Frankly I am not very good with technical issues that I did not even try after seeing the additioanl comments. Add to the fact that the only place I can get the magazine in the US is at Barnes & Noble who have kindly increased the price of your magazine from $10.99 to $15.99 I am afraid I may need to budget this to actual music.

@radrocker39:

Sorry to hear you were unable to follow the steps I suggested.

I cannot comment on the pricing of Fireworks Magazine in the USA, maybe Bruce can shed some light on it?

In the meantime, I will send you a mail and transfer the files to you directly.

We'll sort it out, no worries!

The pricing of the magazine is nothing to do with uswe actually took a reduced % from USA sales to keep price to consumer down. We have increased cover price by £1 in UK, but that is after increasing page count from 100 to 132-148 pages. Not forgeting the 70+ free songs.
$10.99 actually seems too cheap...although $15.99 seems too expensive. But still way cheaper than Classic Tock. Buying direct via subscription is $15 per issue (cost $10 postage) and you get the physical CD...and the mag a month earlier.

I do not disagree with the inbetween price but keep in mind short of the multi level hassle to possible secure the download tracks there is no free cd and according to your subscription guidelines on page 3 assuming the 5 issues (not sure how as this is now that you are a quarterly issue) this would still place your subscription at $21.60 per issue (5 issues per year) or $21.60 (4 issue from the new quarterly arrangement). Assuming the $15 per issue with the physical cd please let me know how these rates can happen as I would be interested as I have to keep checking in on Barnes & Nobles keping in mind that this is the only outlet and not all the outlets distribute your fine magazine.

Classic Rock is unfortunately becoming a more and more viable option considering the ease of the cd, purchase and now competitive price.
