Kadavar - 'Rough Times - Live In Copenhagen'

A relentless drive to play live and deliver ecstatic jams is impressed within this album.

The first thing that comes in mind when listening to this new live album of Kadavar is the Italian grotesque film 'Down And Dirty' (directed by Ettore Scola in 1976). After such a raw album like 'Rough Times', it must be pointed out that Kadavar are a Heavy Garage band, one that is scratchy and on the rocks. Christoph "Lupus" Lindemann (guitar/vocals), Christoph "Tiger" Bartelt (drums) and Simon "Dragon" Bouteloup (bass) know that they're unbeatable on stage with their unstoppable energy, so there could be nothing better than a live album to celebrate their career, and they chose the Danish capital to capture an amazing show in November 2017.

This German trio try to express the intimate soul of their music with this performance. Their music is an original mix of Stoner and Rock 'n' Roll with a delicious vintage patina which all combine to make 'Live In Copenhagen' an experience that is out of this time. Minimal and convincing, this is an energetic live album featuring all their best tracks where you can smell the blood and sweat coming from a hot audience that sing loud throughout.

Kadavar are highly regarded as one of the most explosive live experiences on the Contemporary Rock scene and this work seems to confirm it with three basic ingredients – an accessible yet personalized brand of Classic Rock, a no-frills approach to everything they do and an undeniable German tenacity. This trio of musicians form a unique symbiosis, challenging each other to fill the space between them and the fans, thus giving their best on a five-week tour through Europe. A relentless drive to play live and deliver ecstatic jams is impressed within this album; if you're trying to understand something more about the group and their Retro Rock, you can listen to this live release and have a complete overview of their musical strengths.
