Witch Tripper - 'Witch Tripper'

They have plenty of groove and attitude, while the production of the album brings out all the brutal riff work out in a splendid manor.

Witch Tripper are probably one of a hundred bands that have inserted the word "Witch" into their name! The trio are from Nottingham and were formed in 2014 with a line-up consisting of Richie Barlow vocals and guitar, Chris Stoff on bass guitar and Jimmy Collins on drums.

They have played their local circuit as well as the Bloodstock stage in 2015, and from that alone, you can guess they are a no-nonsense Metal act. The guitars tear out of each song, very much in the style of Monster Magnet, and they have plenty of groove and attitude, while the production of the album brings out all the brutal riff work out in a splendid manor.

'Attitude Adjustment' is foot-to-the-floor Metal, with Barlow's vocals having just enough of a sneer to bring to mind latter day Rob Halford of Judas Priest. The riffs don't let up on 'Chills To The Bone' – the song is a mass of driving guitar rhythms that lock in with the bass and drums to produce a true arsenal of Metal.

Things get a little predictable during 'You Get What You Pay For', though we get back on track during 'Shout' which obviously has a big meaty chorus and full-throttle approach.

By far the most ambitious musical offerings here are 'Served By Time' and 'Turbo Bitch', both having a shiny Metallic commercial edge, not unlike Five Finger Death Punch, and there is plenty emotional charge here to satisfy any Rocker.

If Witch Tripper can continue in this vein I expect to hear a lot more from them in the near future.
