Chris Laney - 'Only Come Out At Night'
HotA Rocktopia user review written by Speedy Hicks.
Strewth this is a bit of a who’s who of all things rock n roll with “Chris Laney” drafting in a few of his mates and getting himself a very impressive list in the process. Ian Haugland, Conny Bloom, Bruce Kulick, Brian Robbo Robertson to name but four. So what do you get for your Pound/Dollar/Euro? Well eleven tracks of old fashioned hard rock that’s what. All vocals are handled by Chris in his usual snarly fashion. Tracks such as “Love So Bad” and the pristine “Crush” both display a up-tempo feel, “Gotta Run” also is a balls to the wall rocker that showcases Mr Kulick’s guitar wizardry. There is a blatant Def Leppard moment on “One Kiss Tonight” with those Leppard backing vocals stacked high, but why not they work brilliantly on this song and gives the album another dimension. This is such an enjoyable piece of work that I have had to order his other album “Pure” for fans of “Slaughter, Firehouse” and possibly anything that rocks.
