Nightvision - 'As The Lights Go Down'

One of the most satisfying things in life is when a young band from these shores release a cracking debut album and I have the pleasure of reviewing it. Filed most definitely under the classic rock banner this is an instant reminder of early “Metallica” and a sprinkling of Diamond Head.Vocalist Dave Mckee certainly has the chops and with his raspy vocals stamps his authority over the whole album. “ Nightmare” is a song that is worthy of any stadium filling band to have under their belts with a huge choppy riff and a mature sounding production. On the other side of the coin we have the dare I say it almost ballad track “Enough of You” which highlights the fact that Nightvision are certainly not all foot on the monitor, head down ,100 mph “Testament” wannabes. One thing that was refreshing about this release is the fact its not repetitive in any way shape or form and nothing you could call a duff track in sight. So impressed was I that I decided to check them out on You Tube and blimey they are pretty good live as well, fingers crossed for the future then.
