Stage Dolls - 'Always'

A Rocktopia user review written by Speedy Hicks.

It’s been too long - way too long since we have been spoilt with a dose of Norway’s finest, roughly six years.
Was the wait worth it? Well after pressing play and listening for 3min 39secs the answer is a glorious yes.
Opener “Always” reminded me why this band has been so close to my heart for over 20 years the track just
oozes a swagger and a hook that Def Leppard would be proud of. Torstein Flakne has never sounded so
good as he does on the slow burners such as “Raining on a Sunny Day” and “My Strangest Friend” even
the up tempo numbers like “Rollin” and “When the Backdrop Ends” are all about the Vocals and these are
enhanced by the female back up singers that just raise the quality higher. “Taillights” displays plenty of fret
work and if this doesn’t make a appearance at this years “Firefest” then I will have a major paddy!! Not only
do the nice people of Norway give us the Christmas tree in Trafalgar square every year, they also give us the
“Stage Dolls” as nice as the tree is I know which gift I prefer….Quality.
